Examination results will be sent in writing to all candidates within 14 days. Early notification of results is not possible.

Certificate

The Goethe-Institut certificates for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 to C2 are valid indefinitely. However, there are institutions and employers who require a certificate that is no older than two years. If candidates do not pass the Goethe exam, they will receive a confirmation of participation by post.

• If candidates pass the Goethe exam, certificates will be sent to them within 14 days of the examination.
• Exam candidates who have taken and passed a single module or several modules of the examinations will each receive a separate certificate for the module(s) taken. If all four modules are taken via the same examination centre and passed within one year, the exam participants also have the option of applying for an overall certificate showing all four modules together for a fee.
• All certificates are sent by registered mail for security reasons.
• Please make sure you pick up your certificate at your local post office should you be away during this time.

Goethe-Zertifikate are recognised by Fide

The fide language passport serves as proof for naturalisation, residence permit (B) and settlement permit (C). The language passport can be applied for at the fide office (costs CHF 20.-). The easiest way to get a fide Sprachenpass in Switzerland!
